Where can I shoot my air rifle?

Before shooting an air rifle anywhere other than on private property or an approved firing range, contact your local law enforcement agency or the state Attorney General to learn of any restrictions. Many states have laws in place limiting air rifle possession and use.

For example, Massachusetts law prohibits the discharge of air rifles from across alleys, streets, public ways and railroads. Minnesota prohibits the carrying of such weapons in public places, while Mississippi outlaws use or possession of the guns on school grounds. Virginia prohibits the firing of air rifles in heavily-populated areas. South Carolina and Georgia state laws ban possession of such guns at park and recreational facilities.
