Patients with acute sinusitis have symptoms such as nasal congestion, pain and tenderness around the face and a thick green or yellow discharge. Patients with chronic sinusitis experience similar symptoms for longer periods of time. A patient should see a doctor immediately if he is experiencing sinus problems in addition to a severe headache, confusion, a stiff neck or double vision.
