Sinus problems, such as acute or chronic sinusitis, can cause nausea, according to Mayo Clinic. Sinusitis can also cause pain in the ear, aching around the teeth and upper jaw and bad breath.
Acute sinusitis and chronic sinusitis share very similar symptoms, as stated by Mayo Clinic. Patients with acute sinusitis have symptoms such as nasal congestion, pain and tenderness around the face and a thick green or yellow discharge. Patients with chronic sinusitis experience similar symptoms for longer periods of time. A patient should see a doctor immediately if he is experiencing sinus problems in addition to a severe headache, confusion, a stiff neck or double vision.
