Can you still send checks to pay your gas bill?

Whether or not it is possible to send a check to pay a gas bill depends on the specific gas company's payment options. Many gas companies, such as the Philadelphia Gas Works, accept payment via check, money order, credit card or debit card.
Many gas companies accept a check either through the mail or in person. When paying a gas bill by check, always include the gas utility account number in the memo section. The utility account number is helpful but not required when paying with a credit card over the phone.
The average American household spends more than 700 dollars annually on gas bills, according to the Department of Energy.
