How can you tell if you have warts?

If you have warts, your skin has small, rough bumps that are beige, pink or tan, according to the Mayo Clinic. Sometimes they have black pinpoints sprinkled throughout them, which are small blood vessels that have clotted.
Many over-the-counter wart treatments are available in pharmacies, reports WebMD. If these fail to work, and the warts remain, spread or keep coming back, seek medical attention. You should also contact the doctor if the warts hurt, change color or appearance, or interfere with your daily activities. If you have a compromised immune system or are uncertain as to whether the growths are really warts, talk to your doctor as well, notes the Mayo Clinic.
