What is canine entropion surgery?
By Forinfos - 26/07/2025 - 0 comments
Canine entropion surgery is performed on a dog's eyelids in the event that the inner eyelid has rolled inward. This is often a source of pain for the dog. An inward eyelid can cause other eye issues, such as ulcers, tears and erosions, all of which can ultimately affect the dog's eyesight.
The entropion is common among specific breeds of dog, which include pugs, bulldogs, Pomeranians, poodles and the Japanese chin, to name a few. Eyelid entropion can also be quite difficult to notice in dogs with flat faces, such as the Pekingese or pug.
The surgery to correct the rolling eyelid is completed at least two times over the dog's lifespan, and even more often if required.
