What are some canyons in Texas?

Some canyons in Texas include the Palo Duro Canyon and the Caprock Canyons. Both of these canyons are protected as state parks by the Texas Parks and Wildlife department.

As the second largest canyon in the nation, the Palo Duro Canyon offers a rugged outdoor experience and a rich history. This canyon and state park is located in the Texas panhandle area. Visitors can hike around the area or ride a bike, rent a horse or take their cars.

In the Caprock Canyons, there is a herd of bison that was released into the grassland area of the park in 2011. Before heading out into the canyons, visitors can stop at the visitors center to learn more about the area.
