What are caracal kittens?

Caracal kittens are young animals of the species Caracal, a kind of wild cat that lives in Africa and southwest Asia. Unlike their big cat cousins, caracals only grow as large as 44 pounds. Although they're known as desert lynxes, caracals live in a range of habitats.

Caracal offspring are born in litters of one to six kittens but the average in the wild is closer to one to four. Adult females care for their young and cannot become pregnant more than once a year due to the amount of care involved. Kittens stay with their mothers for up to a year but are weaned much earlier at 10 weeks.
