What do carbohydrates do to your body?
By Forinfos - 18/09/2025 - 0 comments
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) states that carbohydrates supply the body with energy. Carbohydrates are converted into glucose in the body. Glucose can be used right away or stored in the liver or muscles for future use.
Sources of carbohydrates include fruits, vegetables and grains such as breads and cereals. Milk and milk products that have been sweetened with sugar also provide carbohydrates, according to the CDC. Healthy carbohydrate-rich foods are those that provide the body with dietary fiber. Candies and sodas are high in carbohydrates, but have added sugar and thus high calories. These foods do not add nutritional value to the diet says the CDC.
