When do carnations bloom?
By Forinfos - 28/04/2025 - 0 comments
Starting in June, carnations can bloom for six to eight weeks. Some varieties, after a good deadheading and pruning, may bloom again in the fall. Cutting the flowers back prolongs their bloom times even in varieties that do not bloom twice.
Most carnations are prolific bloomers, and they are hardy in USDA hardiness zones 5 to 9. Carnation blooms are a favorite in cut-flower arrangements and are long-lasting options for flower decor. There is a wide variety of colors from which to choose, including solid and bicolor options. Carnations generally grow 10 to 18 inches high, but this varies depending on the cultivar.
