When do hydrangeas bloom?
By Forinfos - 05/12/2025 - 0 comments
The time that hydrangeas bloom can vary from early spring to mid-summer, depending on the variety of the hydrangea. These blooms last until the autumn and can be blue, red, pink or white in color.
The color of hydrangeas is dependent on the type of soil they are planted in. The lower the soil pH, the more blue- and white-toned flowers will be produced. The ideal pH for this color hydrangea is between 5 and 5.5 pH. In order to achieve the red and pink blooms, a soil pH of 6 or higher is needed. If the soil the hydrangeas are being planted in is a low pH, adding lime can help increase the pH and produce the desired color of bloom.
