CASA, also known as Court Appointed Special Advocates, is an organization dedicated to providing support and a voice for abused and neglected children. CASA volunteers advocate for children in court and the community.
CASA volunteers are appointed by the court and provide information to judges regarding the well-being and care for children residing in foster care. The nonprofit organization provides continual support for foster children by speaking up for their needs and wants until they are placed in permanent care. In 2014 alone, more than 75,000 CASA volunteers advocated for the social and legal needs of more than 238,000 children.
