Why does my cat have dandruff?
By Forinfos - 16/10/2025 - 0 comments
Cat dandruff has a number of causes, including dry air, parasites, obesity, skin cancer or nutritional issues. The condition is often seen in cats that are fed a consistent diet of dry cat food. The low moisture content in the food can dehydrate a cat's skin.
Pet site Pawnation states that canned, raw or homemade cat foods contain ingredients that have better quality and fresher fats that help felines retain moisture in their skin. This is especially true for cat foods that are designed for all stages of a cat's life. These types of canned foods contain more proteins and less carbohydrates than typical canned foods.
