Cold feet are caused by several conditions, including cold exposure injuries, hypothyroidism, nervous system disorders and poor circulation, reports MedicineNet. Additional diseases that attribute to cold feet are arteriosclerosis, diabetes, neuropathy and Raynaud’s phenomenon.

Poor circulation is the most common reason people get cold feet, says Mother Nature Network. This occurs when a sufficient amount of blood does not get to the feet to keep them warm. Hypothyroidism is an underactive thyroid, which causes cold feet and hands, weight gain and hair loss. Raynaud’s phenomenon is a change in regular blood flow to the hands and feet due to spasms in the blood vessels.
