• A urinary tract infection

When the patient is also suffering from an abdominal pain and an accompanying fever, they may have a UTI. Pain that radiates around the back or groin may also indicate a bladder or kidney infection.

• Diabetes

People with type I or II diabetes may urinate frequently as the body attempts to dispose of excess glucose.

• Pregnancy

As the fetus develops during the early stages of pregnancy it may press on the woman's bladder.

• Prostate enlargement
