What causes you to have hot flashes after consuming food?
By Forinfos - 06/02/2025 - 0 comments
Certain types of food and drink or simply eating a large meal may be responsible for hot flashes after eating, according to Everyday Health. Spicy foods in particular can cause hot flashes and sweating, but caffeine and alcohol can also be culprits.
Menopause is not the only cause of hot flashes, according to Healthline. Anytime body temperature is elevated, people may experience the feeling of a hot flash. Hot peppers and other spicy foods can dilate blood vessels and stimulate nerve endings, which makes the body feel warmer. Additional triggers may be stress, allergic reactions, medications with hot flashes as side effects, and hormonal causes that are not related to menopause.
