To change the wireless network password on a router, navigate to the Wi-Fi Protected Access section on the router’s web-based setup page and create a new password following the manufacturer's requirement. The exact process depends on the brand of router.

If you are a Belkin owner, connect your computer to a port on the router. Open a web browser to access the router’s setup page and click Security under the Wireless heading to bring up the Pre-shared Key text box that houses the password.

Linksys owners should launch a web browser and enter “192.168.1.1” in the Address bar. Press Enter on the keyboard to open a Login box, and enter the credentials to open the router’s setup page. The password is located in the Passphrase text box under the Wireless Security section of the Wireless tab.
