What is Cheat Engine?

Cheat Engine is an open source tool designed to help modifying single player games for the Windows operating system. It is used to make such games harder or easier to play depending on the player's preference.

The Cheat Engine comes with a memory scanner that quickly scans the variables used within a game and helps to modify them. The tool also comes with a debugger, a disassembler, an assembler, speedhack and direct 3-D manipulation tools. It can view the disassembled memory of a process and make changes in it to give advantages to players such as infinite health, time or ammunition. The Cheat Engine does not work for online computer games.
