How do you check your Link card balance?

To check balances and manage functions of your Illinois link card, you have two options: check it online or by phone. For either method, you need to provide some details about yourself and the card.

1. Visit the website

   Go to the Illinois Department of Human Services website at www.dhs.state.il.us. Hover your pointer over For Customers in the upper-right corner of the screen. In the drop-down menu, click on By Division, Family and Community Services, then Managing Your Illinois Link Card.

2. Select your option

   This page contains information to manage your account and check balances. You can choose to follow a link to set up and sign in to the EBT website that administers the card, or call the toll-free phone number.

3. Enter your information

   Whether you choose to use the phone or website, you are asked to enter your full social security number, date of birth and the 19-digit number printed on the front of your Link card or your four-digit PIN. The following screen displays your balance.
