A citizenship test, which is also known as a naturalization test, is a test that demonstrates a would-be citizen's knowledge of the United States government and history. The U.S. naturalization test is an oral test based on answering 10 questions from a list of 100 that are published on the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, or USCIS, website, and the test is given during the naturalization interview. To pass, candidates for citizenship must answer six of the 10 questions correctly.
The USCIS website maintains a practice naturalization test for prospective citizens. The test provided is a multiple-choice test with 25 questions designed to help prepare candidates for the actual oral exam.
