What city is under Lake Lanier?

Lake Lanier covers several towns and up to 50,000 acres of what was once prime farm land. On the Forsyth County side of the lake, the town of Oscarville was covered by the lake.

The lake covered a few unique artifacts in Northern Georgia, such as the old Looper Speedway that used to be off of Laurel Park. In order to construct the lake, both farms and bottom land had to be bought from individuals and private companies. Furthermore, the Army Corps of Engineers had to move six churches, 250 families, 20 cemeteries and 15 businesses in order to place the lake.
