How do you clean a dirty carpet?

Cleaning a dirty carpet requires the use of a carpet cleaner and soap made specifically to work in carpet cleaning machines. A vacuum is also needed.

Before beginning, test a hidden spot on the carpet to ensure it does not discolor.

  1. Prepare the carpet

    2. Vacuum the area completely to remove surface dust and debris. After vacuuming, pretreat any dark spots or stains by spraying them with carpet cleaner.

  2. Run the machine

    3. Fill the carpet machine with the desired amount of soap and water as directed by the manufacturer. Use the machine as specified. Continue use until the water begins coming up clean.

  3. Let it dry

    4. Let the area dry completely before using it. After cleaning, it is a good ideal for users to vacuum regularly and clean up spots as they occur.
