To clean linoleum floors, sweep debris off the floors, and prepare a solution of dish soap and hot water. Mop the floors in sections using the solution, then mop the floors a second time with clean, hot water. Dry the floors immediately with cleaning cloths or towels.
- Sweep the floors
Sweep or vacuum the floors to prevent debris from scratching the linoleum.
- Prepare the soapy water
Mix 1/4 cup dish soap with 1 gallon hot water. Blend the two ingredients until the solution is slightly foamy. Fill another bucket with hot water.
- Mop the floors
Dip a mop into the soapy water, and start mopping one corner of the room. Mop the linoleum in circular motions while pushing down gently. Dip the mop into the bucket of hot water, and wring out the mop before dipping it again into soapy water. Continue mopping in this way until all of the linoleum floors are clean.
- Mop the floors again
Fill another bucket with clean hot water. Mop the floors with the hot water to rinse excess soap off the linoleum.
- Dry the floors
Use cleaning cloths or towels to dry the floors. Allow the linoleum to continue air-drying until all dampness is evaporated.
