Clean polyurethane fabric by cleaning the area with a microfiber cloth, treating the fabric with a polyurethane-safe cleaner, using rubbing alcohol for stubborn stains and rinsing the fabric with soapy water. You need an all-purpose cleaner or hairspray, a micrbofiber cloth, rubbing alcohol, soap and water.
- Find a cleaner
Use any all-purpose cleaner or hairspray of your choice, and make sure that the cleaner does not contain bleach. Before starting, use the cleaner on a small spot of the fabric to make sure that it does not discolor or fray the material.
- Clean the area
Rub the fabric with a dry microfiber cloth to remove any loose dust and dirt.
- Spray the fabric
Spray the fabric with the all-purpose cleaner or hairspray. Gently scrub the area with a rag.
- Treat stubborn stains
Dip a cloth in rubbing alcohol, and apply it directly to heavy and stubborn stains. Rub the area until the stain is gone.
- Rinse the fabric
Mix liquid detergent into warm water. Dip a rag into the water, and rub the fabric with the soapy solution to rinse out and remove all remaining chemicals.
- Dry the fabric
After rinsing the fabric, allow it to air dry before using.
