To clean porcelain tile, first sweep the floor to remove any loose dirt. Mop the floor with vinegar and water solution, then rinse with clean water. Use a soft-bristled brush to scrub away any tough stains. Dry the floor with a clean microfiber cloth.
- Sweep the floor
Sweep the porcelain tile floor, or use a kitchen floor vacuum if you have one. If your porcelain tile is polished, go over the floor with a dry dust mop to remove as much dust as possible.
- Mix together a cleaning solution
Combine white vinegar and warm water in a container. For an unpolished porcelain tile floor, use 1/4 white vinegar to 2 gallons of water. If your porcelain tile is polished, use 50 percent less vinegar.
- Mop the floor
Spray the solution onto the floor, and mop in small sections with an absorbent mop. Use a soft, nylon-bristle floor brush to scrub at any stuck-on stains.
- Rinse the floor
Rinse the soap out of the mop, and wipe the porcelain floor with clean, warm water.
- Dry the floor
Dry the floor with a clean, microfiber cloth, or use a wet vacuum if you have one. Make sure to dry polished tile thoroughly to prevent water spots.
