Clean vinyl siding by brushing away debris with a wire brush, wetting the siding with a garden hose and scrubbing it with a solution of trisodium phosphate and warm water. Work from the top down, cleaning half of each side of the house at a time.
- Remove loose debris
Select one side of the house, and brush down cobwebs, dried mud and other debris with a stiff brush or broom. Move around the house, brushing down debris from top to bottom on each side.
- Wet with a garden hose
Gently spray the first side of the house with a garden hose. Use care around vents and other openings.
- Mix a cleaning solution
Add 1/2 cup of trisodium phosphate to 2 gallons of warm water. Mix well.
- Scrub the wet side with the cleaning solution
Dip a long-handled brush in the cleaning solution, and gently scrub the siding to remove dirt. Work from top to bottom, doing half of the side at a time.
- Wet and scrub the other sides of the house
Move to the next side, and wet it with the garden hose. Scrub from top to bottom, and continue around the house until all the siding is clean.
