The Amazon rainforest has a tropical climate that is hot and humid throughout the year. The average annual temperature is usually around 80 degrees Fahrenheit and there is no distinction between the summer and winter seasons.
The Amazon rainforest can get as much as 180 inches of rain throughout the year, which often leads to an oppressive feeling or a lack of air. This forest is the largest tropical forest remaining on earth. It is home to a wide variety of wildlife including the jaguar, ocelot, anteater, monkeys, the three-toed sloth and toucans, as well as a number of amphibians and insects.
