Does coconut oil help to whiten teeth?
By Forinfos - 03/01/2026 - 0 comments
Coconut oil is a natural product that can help whiten a person's teeth. The lauric acid in coconut oil reduces the bacteria in plaque that causes the yellow appearance of teeth.
While coconut oil does not produce an instant bleaching effect, such as some OTC teeth whitening products, the whitening effects of coconut oil often appear after extended use. A technique called "oil pulling" is considered successful in whitening teeth. Before an individual brushes his teeth in the morning, he can place a tablespoon of coconut oil in his mouth and swish it around for approximately 15 to 20 minutes.
