Common corporate executive titles are chief executive officer, president, secretary, treasurer, and chief financial officer. Managing director, chief operating officer, executive director, chief information security officer and vice president are others.
Shareholders determine these positions and outline them in the company bylaws. In many organizations, decision makers combine these positions, and one person may hold more than one title. Many people may also hold positions with the same title. For instance, more than one person may have the title of vice president. Additionally, members of the board of directors may also hold some of these executive titles in some companies.
