What are some common forms of goat housing?

An enclosed barn with removable side panels, small box stalls, tie stalls and a three-sided shelter are common forms of goat housing. Goats have less fat and thinner hair than other types of livestock and need clean, dry bedding in their housing to insulate them from the cold ground.
Goat housing must be well ventilated but free from drafts. Dairy goats do not sweat and are most comfortable in temperatures between 55 and 70 degrees Fahrenheit. Newborn kids or ill goats require a heat lamp in their housing to keep them at a comfortable temperature in cold weather. Bucks require free access to a secure exercise yard and can live comfortably in five or six foot wide three-sided shelter.
