Common problems with the Ford F-350 Diesel include delamination of the fuel tank, issues with the diesel particulate filter cleaning cycle and failures of the high pressure oil pump. This last issue tends to create a "No start" condition, preventing the vehicle from operating.

Other issues that are frequently reported with Ford F-350 DIesel vehicles include white smoke from the tail pipe, caused by the cooler for the EGR valve leaking coolant internally, and turbocharger failures that lead to power loss. While these complaints arise from a range of model years, more recent models tend to display fewer of these issues.
