Does Commonwealth Edison receive any federal funding?

Commonwealth Edison does receive certain federal stimulus and grants that allow the company to expand research toward the creation of alternative fuel methods. Much of this funding comes from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act passed by the U.S. Department of Energy under its Clean Cities Grant Program.

Commonwealth Edison is one of the leading companies in the United States in the research and development of alternative fuel. The intent of this research is to decrease both the country's dependence on oil as well as the output of fuel pollution. In this interest, millions of dollars of federal funding has been provided to the company to assist in this research.
