The Kansas City Business Journal reports that Dazey Corporation, also known as Dazey Products Company, sold part of its company to the Rival Corporation in 1996. The company also sold a line of Dr. Scholl's licensed products to Helen of Troy Corp.
Dazey filed for bankruptcy in 1995 during a time when several kitchen appliance companies were going out of business. The sell-off of Dazey was completed in 1997.
As of 2014, Jarden Consumer Solutions owns the Rival brand. Jarden also owns Sunbeam, FoodSaver, Oster and Mr. Coffee. The popular Seal-A-Meal food storage system invented by Dazey Corporation is sold under the Sunbeam brand.
