What compound is gallium found in?

According to Jefferson Lab, gallium alloys easily with other elements and is, thus, a component of many compounds. Gallium was first extracted, via electrolysis, from gallium hydroxide suspended in potassium hydroxide in 1875.

Gallium is frequently alloyed with other elements for use in industry. According to Jefferson Lab, gallium trichloride was used in the construction of the Gallium Neutrino Observatory. Since gallium is capable of directly emitting coherent light, it is used as an emitting agent in diodes and LEDs. Most compounds of gallium usually have low melting points and so are useful for a wide range of industrial applications.
