Why is condensation a warming process?
By Forinfos - 05/11/2025 - 0 comments
The formation of condensation is a warming process because it releases energy into the atmosphere that causes its temperature to increase. When condensations forms, water vapor condenses from a gas into a liquid. The liquid state requires less energy than the gas state.
Since the gas state requires less energy, the extra energy is released into the atmosphere. With less energy, the molecules can slow down and form a liquid.
The amount of heat that is released when water vapor condenses into liquid is known as the latent heat of condensation.
A process that removes heat from the atmosphere, such as melting, is a cooling process.
