What is a condenser dryer?

A condenser dryer is a clothes dryer that does not require a vent. A conventional dryer passes hot air through the clothes and vents the air, along with the moisture it contains, to the outside. A condenser dryer recycles the hot air.
This type of dryer pulls air from the room, heats it and circulates it through the load. It is then cooled by a device called the heat exchanger. The water from the cooled air is collected in a container, and the air is reheated and used again. This type of dryer slightly increases drying time. It also requires more power to operate than a conventional dryer and is a little less energy efficient. Condenser dryers are useful when access to a vent would be difficult.
