Connect a Wii to the Internet via a wireless connection from page two of the "System Settings" menu, which can be accessed from the Main Menu. The Wii settings can be reached by clicking on the "Wii" button in the lower left corner of the main menu. When adding the connection a password may be required when adding the wireless router, if it is password protected.
- Power on the Wii
Turn the Wii console on, and press the A button on the Wii remote to access the main menu.
- Navigate to the system settings menu
In the lower left hand corner of the main menu, click on the "Wii" button, and on the next screen, click on the "Wii Settings" button.
- Access the Internet settings
Go to the second page of the system settings menu, and select the "Internet" button. On the next screen, click on "Connection Settings."
- Add a connection
From the Connection Settings screen, click on the button "Connect 1 - None." On the next screen, select the "Wireless Connection" button. At the next prompt, click on "Search for an Access Point." From the search results, select the name of your wireless router, and click "OK." If applicable, enter your router's password or security key when prompted. Before selecting "OK," make sure the security type in the top left corner matches the type used by your router. If the security type does not match, select "Change Security Settings." When finished, click "OK" and then "Save Settings."
- Update the Wii
If the test connection is successful, select "Yes" when prompted to perform a Wii system update.
