What conspiracy theories revolve around Agenda 21?

Agenda 21 is a nonbinding plan for sustainable growth designed by the United Nations in 1992 and the main conspiracy theory around it is that it is, in fact, a secret plot to collectivize private property. The plan has been the subject of numerous articles and books and many view it as a dangerous threat to American sovereignty.

The plan was developed at the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and it has 40 chapters that deal with issues, such as combating poverty, achieving a more sustainable population, atmospheric protection, control of pollution and protecting fragile environments. Publications like The Atlantic linked the protests against the plan to property rights movement in the United States.
