How do you copy text from a PDF file?

Text and images can be copied from a PDF file by using the Tools menu in Adobe Reader. Some PDFs are protected and it is not possible to copy from them directly.
- Open the Tools menu
Select the Tools option from the menu bar at the top of Adobe Reader. Click on the Basic option, then click Select Text.
- Select text
Using the mouse or keyboard commands, select the text you want to copy. To copy images, drag the mouse over them to select them or right click.
- Copy the text
Open the Edit menu from the menu bar at the top of the page. Select Copy to copy all selected text.
