The copyright symbol can be inserted into text documents and email messages by pressing the "Ctrl," "Alt" and "C" keys together. The symbol is typically placed at the bottom of any visually perceptible work to inform others of copyright ownership.
Similar symbols include the trademark symbol and the registered trademark symbol. A trademark symbol is added by pressing "Ctrl" + "Alt" + "T", while a registered trademark symbol is added by pressing "Ctrl" + "Alt" + "R". Alternatively, Microsoft Word users can add the symbols using the default auto correct feature by simply typing "C", "T" or "R" enclosed in parentheses, like (c). Windows automatically changes it to the specific symbol.
