Where do corn snakes live?

The corn snake is widespread across the eastern United States, although it is most concentrated in the southeastern portion of the country. The habitat of the corn snake is variable and includes rocky hillsides, meadowlands and wooded areas.

Corn snakes range between 24 and 72 inches in length. The orange coloration and black-ringed red blemishes of the corn snake allow it to blend in with foliage, although the markings vary between individuals. The underside of the corn snake is characterized by alternating rows of black and white markings. Adult corn snakes use their impressive climbing ability to catch rodents, birds and bats. Once caught, the prey of the corn snake is then suffocated until dead.
