What is the correct name for a blank document on Microsoft Word?
By Forinfos - 26/08/2025 - 0 comments
The correct name for a blank document on Microsoft Word is Document1. This is the file name displayed when Microsoft Word is opened without opening a saved document. Each additional new document opened is one number larger, such as Document2, Document3 and Document4.
Document1 is opened based on the user's normal template. It is possible to change the template to replace the default margins, font, text size and spacing. This is done by finding the "Normal.dotm" file in the Microsoft Word template folder. Once found, users adjust the settings of the document and save it. The next time Microsoft Word is opened, the new Document1 has these settings.
