To insert the copyright symbol into a Microsoft Word document, the user needs to click on "insert" and select "symbols" to find the copyright symbol and insert it into the document. Another way to add a copyright symbol is by using a keyboard shortcut. Pressing "ctrl", "alt" and "c" at the same time produces a copyright symbol.
Users working in a Rich Text document may insert the symbol by taking advantage of the default AutoCorrect feature. By typing the "c" inside of parentheses, the program automatically changes this into the the copyright symbol. This method also works in documents that are written in HTML.
