CommonHealth states in 2013 that the Zostavax vaccine to prevent shingles and postherpetic nueralgia is only covered by most insurance companies if the person receiving the vaccine is over 60 years of age, based on recommendations by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
