Where is the country of Georgia located?

The country of Georgia is located on the dividing line between Asia and Europe. It is situated in the Caucasus Mountains and borders the Black Sea. Georgia borders four other countries, which are Armenia, Russia, Turkey and Azerbaijan.

Georgia used to be part of the Soviet Union, but it gained independence on April 9, 1991. The capital and largest city in Georgia is T'bilisi. The country mainly has a Mediterranean climate, but it does sometimes suffer from earthquakes. Georgia has an area of 26,911 miles. The main and the official language is Georgian, although Russian and Armenian are also spoken.
