As of 2015, Switzerland recycles more than any other country in the world. A Yale University study ranked countries according to factors that represent the results of each nation's dedication to recycling.
The top factors that affected this ranking are the amount of emissions, sulfur output, dedication to conservation and purity of water sources. For the average person in Switzerland, there are glass bottle deposit banks at every supermarket and paper collection once a month. Green waste is picked up off the street, as long as it is carefully packed. There are also local places to recycle household metals, car batteries, old oils and chemicals.
