What is the "cow flatulence tax"?
By Forinfos - 13/09/2025 - 0 comments
In the United States, a cow flatulence tax does not exist, but some European nations have imposed taxes on cow owners. The main argument for a cow flatulence tax is that cows release methane, one of the greenhouse gases that causes climate change.
As of 2014, there are no proposals for a cow flatulence tax in the United States. Denmark and Ireland were some of the first European countries to tax cattle owners. Each cow costs $18 in taxes in Ireland, while Denmark charges farmers $110 per cow.
