Baxter Black was born on January 10, 1945 in New Mexico. He is a cowboy poet and a large animal veterinarian as well as a popular radio television commentator. He has published several works including "Legacy of a Rodeo Man," which plays towards the end of the movie "8 Seconds." Some other poems Baxter has published include "The Cowboy and His Dog," "Evolution of the Ranch Wife" and "Take Care of Yer Friends."
