Creeping wire vine is a sprawling plant characterized by shiny green leaves that grow from extremely thin stems. It is a low-maintenance plant often used for ground cover, as it provides erosion protection on hills and sloped areas, and it easily grows around rocks and stone structures.

Creeping wire vine, known as Muehlenbeckia axillaris, is native to New Zealand and Australia and is suitable for USDA hardiness zones six and nine. Creeping wire vine thrives in a variety of soils, growing best in well-drained areas. It is suitable for outdoors, even in areas with foot traffic, and it can also be grown indoors. Flowering in late spring, it typically produces edible berries toward the end of summer.
