English creeping thyme, also known as wild thyme or thymus serpyllum, is a flowering plant and member of the mint family. It is a dwarf shrub that can produce a variety of fragrances.
English creeping thyme may smell like lemon, lilac or a more pungent herbal smell. It is an evergreen native to Europe and Asia, but it is cultivated widely in gardens around the world. It does well in thin soils and does not need much water to survive. Flowering season is from the end of spring to the beginning of autumn in its native habitats. The flowers tend to produce a lot of nectar and attract many bees.
