Creeping sedum can be planted any time between early spring when the danger of frost is past and late autumn. Creeping sedum plants that are planted in the spring bloom through the summer and autumn.
Planting is accomplished by laying the sedum on top of the soil. The roots burrow into the soil on their own. Once the roots are established, creeping sedum spreads quickly. Creeping sedum is very low maintenance. It has earned the name stonecrop because gardeners joke that only stones need less attention. Unless it is extremely dry, creeping sedum does not need to be watered. Because it is sensitive to chemicals, it also should not be fertilized.
